Since diesel was reclassified as a flammable liquid under the CLP Regulations, any alarm fitted to a diesel tank needs to be suitable for a potentially explosive atmosphere. This Hytek kit meets that requirement: the alarm is ATEX certified and the float switches that sit inside the tank are rated for Zone 0 and Zone 1, so you can fit it to diesel and HVO storage with confidence.

The weatherproof 230V control box has three independent channels, each with its own LED, and a 90dB (at 1m) sounder backed up by a xenon beacon: loud and visible enough to be noticed on a busy yard. Unlike basic push-to-test units, it monitors continuously, raising the alarm the moment a switch is triggered rather than waiting for someone to check.

This version ships with two universal float switches and two 1½” female brass tank caps for steel tanks. Each switch can be set via dip switches to act as a high-level/overfill, low-level/reorder or bund alarm, so you might fit one to each of two tanks or use both on a single tank to warn of overfill and low stock. A third channel is free for an extra switch should you add another tank or a bund probe later.

A built-in test button checks the whole system – switches, wiring and sounder – in one go, and external mounting holes let you fix the box to a wall or the tank itself.
