Parker-Meggitt F595 Hose End Control Valve

The faster you can safely push fuel into an aircraft, the shorter the turnaround. The Parker-Meggitt F595 hose end control valve (HECV) was developed to keep pressure control tight at the top end of the flow range, giving a flatter control curve up to 600 US gpm (2,270 L/min) and remaining stable up to 800 US gpm (3,030 L/min). In practice that means more consistent nozzle pressure at high flow and the potential for incrementally quicker refuelling.

The valve limits surge pressure to 120 psi (8.3 bar) and lock-up pressure to 70 psi (4.8 bar). It is available with four spring settings to suit your system: 35 psi (2.4 bar), 45 psi (3.1 bar), 50 psi (3.4 bar) or 55 psi (3.8 bar) nominal control pressure. Its compact, lightweight body can be fitted with end connections to suit Carter-pattern nozzles, and two F595 units can be mounted in tandem to act as primary and secondary pressure controls.

For operators moving up from older valves, the F595 is a straightforward swap. It is directly interchangeable with the F594 and can also replace the older F574. Most of its internal parts are shared with the F594, but the F595 uses a mechanical lockout device. That removes the need for a hydraulic-type lockout when checking other control components in the system.

If you’d rather upgrade existing F574 valves than replace them, conversion kit KITF594-101 gives an F574 the flow characteristics of the F594. Note that the reworked F574 keeps its original, shorter body length, so tandem mounting is not possible – the F594 and F595 bodies are slightly longer for exactly that reason.
