    Description

The Veeder-Root 7887 is a mechanical meter register that turns the meter’s rotation into a clear, high-visibility readout, with no batteries, power supply or electronics to go wrong. It is used throughout the oil supply chain, on wells, pipelines, storage terminals and fuel delivery vehicles, and in chemical plants, where it tracks quantities during mixing and batching.

Two counters sit side by side. A 5-digit resettable totaliser shows the current delivery and is zeroed with a positive-action reset knob, while an 8-digit non-resettable totaliser builds a permanent record of up to 99,999,999 units that cannot be cleared, giving a reliable audit figure for stock control. Where larger deliveries need an extra digit, the sister 7886 register offers a 6-digit resettable counter alongside the same 8-digit non-resettable total.

A geared drive lets the register read in whatever unit your operation uses, whether litres, gallons, barrels or non-liquid quantities. 1:1 gearing comes as standard, and ratios up to 42:1 are available. Optional adaptors connect the 7887 to all standard meters and pumps, and the register runs at up to 250 RPM on the right-hand wheel, with acetal resin internals for smooth, long-lasting operation. It is rated for 50,000 reset cycles or 25 million wheel revolutions.

The sturdy housing is finished in corrosion-resistant epoxy to cope with exposed sites and extreme weather, with an operating range of -40°C to +71°C.

The register can also be built up into a fuller delivery system. A Veeder-Root 7889 preset counter adds automatic shut-off at a chosen quantity, a 7888 ticket printer produces a printed record of each delivery, and 1871 or 7671 pulsers send the count to remote displays or data systems. Installation guides, datasheets and a register selection guide are available to download from this page.
